Shackleton Solo & Ice Tracks

Experience the magic of Antarctica… not quite in Henry’s footsteps!

Last year Ice Tracks had the honour of travelling to Antarctica with Henry as our historian on our Shackleton Centenary Voyage. This year, it’s the real deal as he sledge-hauls his way across the Antarctic continent – from Berkner Island to the Ross Ice Shelf via the South Pole and the first ever solo descent of the Shackleton Glacier. It will take the ‘old soldier’ more than two months of a punishing slog. Should he succeed he will be the first man to traverse Antarctica solo and unsupported.

However WE can support him! His mission is to raise £100,000 for the Endeavour Fund to help wounded soldiers undertake physical challenges as part of their long journey of rehabilitation. Ice Tracks has pledged to give the Endeavour Fund a minimum of £200 and anything up to £500 for every passenger travelling to Antarctica this season (2015/2016) and next (2016/2017) who book through this page and mention the Shackleton Solo and Endeavour Fund.

Leave your sledge behind and join us on a voyage to Antarctica! Not only help the Endeavour Fund but also receive a Special Discount.

Shackleton Centenary Voyage 2016

We are delighted to share with you the final commemorative voyage for the Centenary of the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Honouring Sir Ernest Shackleton is at the very heart of this unique voyage and that is the reason why we have included the crossing of South Georgia icecap led by polar adventurer extraordinaire Seb Coulthard as part of our superb and extended itinerary!

Nothing prepares you for heart-stopping pristine beauty of Antarctica. Icescapes, ice cliffs, ice bergs of cobalt blue that dwarf everything in their midst. Soaring albatross and swooping petrels, fluking whales, bobbing seals and one ton belching elephant seals! Sunsets and sunrises separated by crimson-streaked skies. It can only be described as  a paradise in ice.
