Antarctic talks in the UK

Carolina’s visit to the UK (in between guiding two fabulous Actic Svalbard voyages – more of that later) included several presentations introducing people to the wonders of voyaging to the Arctic and Antarctica and in particular the Friends of SPRI Shackleton Centenary Voyage, November 2014.

The day after stepping off the airplane she spoke at the Banbury Rotary lunch and we can be seen here demonstrating the wingspan of a Wandering albatross with the President! (I am the undercarriage! )It was a fabulous social occasion except for the liver served at lunch but then my business partner has hollow limbs and she was able to help me out!

Not many people have the opportunity to take the platform of the Scott Polar Research Institute lecture hall but Caro’s performance shone and sure enough we signed on more people for this truly spectacular Shackleton Centenary voyage.

More presentation ensued including ‘one to one’ talks  (which we love doing) on voyaging to Antarctica and the Arctic with Ice Tracks.

Caro then left for Spitzbergen to kick started our Arctic adventures.  Read more on this article.
